Bailey Gatzert Library

We are both honored and thankful that our library received a major remodel, due in large part, to the sponsorship of Target stores ,and The Heart of America Foundation. Combined, they donated 2,000 new volumes to our book collection – including a major number of ’Caldecott Medal’ winners. Also, due to their generosity, our library received 5new computers, all new shelving, paint, carpet and, last but not least, all Gatzert students received 7 free books to add to their own home libraries. Thanks again, Target stores and The Heart of America Foundation!

We would like to thank the ‘Northwest Literacy Foundation’ for their generous donation of books! We received many wonderful and inspiring titles. Thanks, again Northwest Literacy Foundation!

Also, thank you Ginkgo Foundation for the $500.00 grant. It is very much appreciated.

Thanks to all of you for supporting our students.  It takes a village to raise a child.

Mission Statement

Our Library Media Centers mission is to engage students in activities that empower them to become inquisitive, lifelong learners and innovative, synthesizers of information through the development of a quest for knowledge and a love of literacy.

Three Roles of The Library

  1. Teach Information Literacy
  2. Promote Literacy and Advocate Reading
  3. Manage information by providing information resources

Libraries and Student Achievement
“When learners of all ages have the opportunity to read stories and explore information that matters to them, various forms of literacy and numeracy can emerge.  Research has shown that school libraries have the tools to inspire literacy in learners of all ages.  The extent to which books are borrowed from school libraries shows a strong relationship with reading achievement.”
