    Dear Bailey Gatzert Elementary Community,

Last week, I appointed Mr. Ronnie Belle as the new principal of Bailey Gatzert Elementary. I can’t think of a better person to support the students, families, and staff at Bailey Gatzert this coming school year. Mr. Belle is passionate about high quality teaching, achieving the best outcomes for all students, and deeply committed to authentic and inclusive engagement and transparency. He is enthusiastic about partnering with the school community to refocus and develop a strong vision for the school – one that reflects the values, strengths, and diversity of Bailey Gatzert.

Mr. Belle will be joining Bailey Gatzert from Madison Middle School, where he has been the assistant principal since 2017. Mr. Belle has also served as a classroom teacher, adult education instructor, curriculum specialist, and principal of schools in Alabama and Michigan. Prior to joining Seattle Public Schools, he was the director of assessment and accountability for the Tukwila School District. Mr. Belle has a proven track record of student academic and operational success at the school and district levels and will be a great asset in this new role.

Mr. Belle earned his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and his Master of Science in Elementary Education from Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama and Master of Science in Administration/Supervision from Auburn University of Montgomery. He is currently completing his Ph.D. in Educational Foundations, Leadership and Technology from City University of Seattle.

I also want to thank Principal Kazanjian for her leadership at Bailey Gatzert. Principal Belle is committed to building on the strong work that has been done by the staff and families over the last few years. Principal Belle is looking forward to seeing students and families at the start of school.

Please join me in welcoming Principal Belle to the Bailey Gatzert school community.

    Sincerely,

    Denise Juneau
    Superintendent
